The National Care Service provides the practical care and safeguarding support allocated to it, including supervised casework, referral, continuity and local service support.
The service is not an NHS clinical provider, a statutory social services authority or an independent police or judicial body.
Appointments involving safeguarding and support require role-specific suitability assessment, training, supervision and access checks. NCS staff do not acquire child protection, clinical or police powers through an employment title.
